What is Tacrolimus 0.03% eye ointment?
Tacrolimus eye ointment and eye drops and other brands including Entrak and Talymus are not licensed in Australia.
Tacrolimus 0.03% eye ointment is used for the treatment of dry eye syndrome, keratoconjunctivitis sicca (KCS), and severe allergic conjunctival diseases.
Tacrolimus 0.1% eye drops are licensed in Japan, but not in Australia. Tacrolimus 0.03% Eye Ointment is manufactured in India under GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and is preservative-free.
Using Tacrolimus eye ointment and drops
The supply of unlicensed medicine from overseas in Australia is supplied under The Special Access Scheme.
Tacrolimus 0.03% Eye Ointment is supplied under Special Access Scheme (SAS) B.
The SAS B system requires the prescriber to notify The TGA of the use.
